Reveno

Proposal for a re-migrating service Providing a safe and sustainable repatriation

Image description

Project overview

In Denmark, the government provides financial support to migrants without resources who meet certain criteria to help them return to their home countries. However, many of these migrants face difficulties adjusting once they are back, as they struggle to overcome past challenges and reintegrate into a society they left years ago.

Reveno is a system designed to help organizations collaborate and assist migrants who choose to return home. It offers services that promote opportunities for sustainable development and a successful return. This system connects public, private, and third-sector organizations in Denmark and abroad to provide support.

Reveno is a distributed system which connects three sector types: public, private and third, around the situation and needs of a vulnerable migrant who wishes to return to their homeland.

Summary

For this project, the team developed an "evolving user journey map," created with input from migrant experts in social services and NGOs.

Discovery through word-of-mouth: Although we conducted some online research, we mostly relied on referrals and insider knowledge to connect with stakeholders. The existing service was fragmented, which was evident in our research.

Reveno is particularly attractive to businesses that prioritize the "triple bottom line" approach, focusing on:

About the service

Reveno helps people build a sustainable future in their home country after repatriation. While financial support from Denmark is important, vulnerable migrants need more than just money—they require long-term support and planning. This isn't solely the responsibility of the Kommune, but there should be a handover process between sectors and agencies to ensure continued assistance.

Actors' map

The actors' map was created to understand the different stakeholders in the system. The actors are divided into those within the Reveno repatriation service and those outside of it.

Within the service, there are three sectors: public, private, and the third sector. Actors within these sectors are placed based on their role. Those closest to the center are in direct contact with Thai migrants, while those on the outer edges are background operators and supporters.

Outside the service, actors are categorized as supporters or non-supporters of Thai migrants. These actors are included because they play a crucial role in whether migrants succeed or struggle in rebuilding their lives after repatriation.

This proposal aims to connect outgoing migrants to relevant services, by sharing data between both public and private partners, thus building a depth of knowledge and accountability between supporting organisations.
